Year 10

HEAD OF YEAR 10: MRs louise handley

Year 10 is an extremely important year for the students as they focus on setting their goals for the future and progressing towards their Key Stage 4 target grades. The cohort is made up of six forms:

10 ACG

10 HPE
10 PGD
10 SSN
10 TFN

It is with pleasure that I act as Head of Year for this cohort. The students have matured significantly since commencing their KS4 studies and I look forward to watching this development continue throughout Year 10. Our focus for this year is self-belief and ambition.

During Year 10 all students will fulfil a work experience placement as they begin to consider life beyond OCA. This is a vital part of their school career as it helps students to see the connection between what they do in school and their future. If you have any questions about this please do not hesitate to contact your child’s form tutor.

The attendance target for Year 10 students is 97%, this is crucial as any time missed could have a detrimental impact on examination success. Within lessons Year 10 students will strive towards achieving outstanding attitude to learning grades across the curriculum. Year 10 students are also expected to attend at least one enrichment activity per week. All year 10 students will also be given the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award again helping prepare them for future challenges in life and ensuring they stand out from the crowd when applying for colleges, universities and jobs.
